Welcome to Southern Pressure Treaters' Association

Members of The Southern Pressure Treaters' Association (SPTA)  have been supplying vital wood components for America's infrastructure since 1954.

Pressure treated wood poles and wood crossarms form the backbone of the electrical and telecommunications system that delivers electricity, phone, cable and internet to our homes and workplaces allowing us to experience a standard of living unparalleled in the world.

Pressure treated timber piles continue to be the mainstay of foundation systems. Whether it's a manufacturing plant, airport, commerical building, processing facility, home, pier, wharf, bulkhead or a simple boat dock, timber piles remain the economical and environmentally friendly choice.

Manufacturers of  these and other industrial treated wood products can be located at the bottom of this page or by visiting the Sources of Supply page by clicking on the link at the top of this page.

Southern Pressure Treaters' Association is composed of producers of industrial treated wood products,  suppliers of AWPA approved industrial preservatives and preservative components, distributors, engineers, manufacturers, acedemia, inspection agencies and producers of untreated wood products. The site user is urged to review the Disclaimer and to make his or her own independent evaluation of the information presented.

Mission Statement: to identify and manage regulatory issues, legislative issues, market conditions and promotional campaigns on a national and state level that affect or are related to industrial wood products preserved with AWPA approved industrial wood preservatives.
